Welcome to HAEEDS.org, the website of the Horn Africa Educational & Economical Development Society. Since 2017, we have supported Edmonton’s diverse communities through culturally responsive services, newcomer assistance, youth and family programs, health and education workshops, translation support, and community advocacy.

Supporting Edmonton's Diverse Communities
HAEEDS.org represents the Horn Africa Educational & Economical Development Society, an Edmonton-based charity serving the community since 2017. HAEEDS promotes cultural diversity, culturally appropriate services, and inclusive community development through newcomer support, youth programs, translation services, health and education workshops, job readiness, and advocacy for diverse populations.

Our Services
Fundraising and Community Initiatives
Fundraising activities and community-based initiatives that strengthen support networks, respond to urgent needs, and help sustain our programs and services.
Newcomer Settlement Support
We help newcomers adjust to life in Canada by providing emotional support, orientation sessions, housing guidance, computer training, and job readiness assistance. .
Youth and Family Programs & Events
Providing after-school and summer activities for children and young adults, including tutoring, cultural language classes, summer jobs support, and camping opportunities.
Education and Skills Development
We offer programs that support learning, career growth, and independence. These include computer training, business literacy, educational support, and career counseling.
Advocacy and Barrier Reduction
We assess community needs and identify service gaps that affect access to support. By working with stakeholders and partner agencies, we advocate for more inclusive and culturally appropriate services.

Although many of our clients are of East African descent, our services are open to anyone seeking support. We are committed to helping individuals and families from diverse backgrounds access the tools, knowledge, and resources they need to thrive.
